CUNY BRONX COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Bronx Community College CUNY Explorers Virtual Experiences

At Bronx Community College (BCC), students will have the opportunity to experience a virtual tour of the college campus and learn about interests, careers, and majors from the perspective of current college students. Through the BCC STEM experience, students will participate in activities such as: using purple cabbage as an indication to test pH levels in foods, a virtual dissection of the human body and learning about the function of each organ, or learning about one’s blood type and its importance. In the BCC non-STEM experience, students will learn about the different artistic landmarks in New York City and view different dance moves that contribute to the Afrobeat experience.

Common Core Standards: MS-PS1-2, MS-PS1-4, MS-PS1-8, MS-LS1-1, MS-LS1-2, MS-LS1-3.

For this semester, BCC will offer two STEM workshops for 9th and 10th graders: Biology & Chemistry. In the High School Biology Workshop, students will learn about the different organs in the human body using a virtual dissection software. In the High School Chemistry Workshop, students will learn about the different pH levels for foods in their household.

Reserve only the number of visits needed for your school's enrollment.
